IVORY GEORGETTE AND SILVER LACE FASHIONS CHARMING BRIDAL GOWN
TAYLOR—HUNT A pretty wedding was celebrated at St. Matthew’s Church recently, when Ruby Mildred Hunt. only child of the late Mr. and Mrs. T. Hunt, of Nelson, was married to Frederick William George Taylor, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Taylor, of Vincent Road, Mount Albert. The Rev. Canon Grant Cowen was the officiating minister. ’J'HE bride, who was given away by Mr. \Y. Torrens, wore a charming frock of ivory georgette with a yoke of silver lace, which also appeared on the long sleeves. The ankle-length skirt hud u deep vandyked hem of silver lace and was finished at the waist with a large bow of ivory tulle and a cluster of orange blossom. Tier veil of embroidered tulle formed a graceful! train, and was held in place with a wreath of' orange blossom. A shower bouquet of white roses, sweet peas and carnations was carried. Two maids were in attendance on tho bride. Miss Myrtle Taylor and Miss Molet Taylor, who wore apricot and «au do nil georgette respectively. Their frocks had long skirts ol picot edged frills mad© with a bolero effect, inset Tvith brussels lace. Purge tulle bows and buckles of diamente formed a dainty finish. Both wore headdresses of silver and tinted leaves, and carried
bouquets of roses and sweet peas tied with streamers of satin ribbon. Two train bearers were Miss Ivy Taylor and Miss Lily Taylor, who wore frocks of pink and maize crepe de chine, tho former having picot-edged frills, puff sleeves and a trimming of velvet flowers, and the latter made in a similar style, but with an embroidery of blue forget-me-nots. Their headdresses were of silver leaves and colour to tone with their frocks. Both carried bouquets tied with tulle streamers.
A pretty touch was lent to the ceremony by the entrance of two little heralds. Miss Daphne Taylor and Master Albert Taylor, who led the bridal party. The former was in a dainty frock of betty blue crepe de chine, the skirt being formed of tiny picot-edged frills and forget-me-nots. Her headdress was of forget-me-nots and silver leaves, and she carried a blue horseshoe of pink carnations and blue ribbon streamers.
Master Taylor wore a smocked shepherd’s suit of pale blue and cream crepe de chine, and carried a crook tied with carnations, sweet peas and streamers of blue ribbon. The bridegroom was attended by his brothers, Mr. Alf Taylor as best man, and Mr. W. Taylor as groomsman. More than 300 friends were present at tho ceremony.
A reception was held later at Carlton Hall, where Mrs. Taylor, the bridegroom’s mother, received the guests in an ensemble frock of airforce blue crepe de chine, with a knife-pleated skirt of beige and a hat of blue georgette and radium lace. She carried a bouquet of crimson roses. About 140 guests were present at the reception, a most enjoyable musical programme having been arranged.
