“DESERT SONG”

FINAL PERFORMANCE An enthusiastic farewell was given at His Majesty’s Theatre last evening to members of the popular “Desert Song” Company who sailed, after the performance, for Australia. Last evening’s performance of the musical comedy was the last to be given by the company which, shortly iifter its arrival in Australia, will put on a new production. All performers entered fully into the spirit of the occasion and a memorable performance resulted. A number of floral tributes wpre handed up at the conclusion of the performance, when the popularity of the company was strikingly indicated by the prolonged rounds of applause. The departure of the Maunganui for Sydney was delayed in order to take the company on board and the vessel left in the early hours of the morning.
