AUCKLAND DOUBLE

rpHE scratching of fancied candidates for the bia Auckland double continues in what must be an aggravating fashion for the early speckers. Yesterday Pegaway (2.45 p.m.) was taken out of the Auckland Cup, and Eaglet (4.26 p.m.) and First Money (5 p.m.) were withdrawn from the Railway Handicap. In this connection it is timely to observe that the following Auckland Cup horses have also been entered for the Manawatu Cup, run on the same day: Concentrate, Kick Off, Hoylake, Seatown, First Acre, Spearmiss and Shrewd. Railway Handicap entrants nominated for Manawatu sprint events are Paganelli, Cimabue, Hunting Cry, Aspiring and Gold Dawn.
