UNIFORMITY COMMITTEE NOT WANTED P. AND T. PROTEST Emphatic protests are being made by the Post and Telegraph staffs at Auckland against the finding of the I-nlformity Committee” as embodied in the Prime Minister's statement regarding reclassification of the Post and Telegraph service. They say the findings referred to are a majority report of three departmental heads who, with one exception, are not in touch with the conditions Peculiar to the Post and Telegraph service. Serious exception is taken to the findings of that committee on the score that they are most incomplete and wonderfully evasive. The committee has for long been considered the bugbear of Post and Telegraph employees, it is stated, and the opinion is widely held that it is °ne of the chief causes of the discontent in the service. Its abolition is regarded as being much overdue. Much interest is manifest in tonight's Post and Telegraph reunion, a nd the fear is expressed that the attendance will be so large that improvised accommodation will be necessary. Mr. J. h. McKenzie, the general •secretary of the Post and Telegraph Employees’ Association, arrived from Wellington this morning, and will to<*ay be visiting the various Post and Telegraph staffs in the city.
