BOWER OF FLOWERS

A MOUNT EDEN BRIDE McGEE—LOUIS A wedding of interest was celebrated at St. Barnabas’s Church, Mount Eden, on Saturday afternoon, when Miss Myrtle Sylvia Louis, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. D. Louis, of Mount Eden, was married to Mr. Eric Gordon McGee, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. R. J. McGee, of Karaka, Papakura. The Rev. E. E. Bamford performed the ceremony, and the church was decorated for the occasion with lilies, rhododendrons, sweet peas, and was a bower of flowers. Given away by her uncle, Mr. IT. S. Johnston, the bride looked charming in a frock of pale shell pink georgette, with uneven tiers to the ankle, and bands of beautiful hand-made roses. Her long veil was of net in the same delicate pink shade, and she carried a shower bouquet of pale pink roses, carnations, and sweet peas. In attendance on the bride was Miss Dorothy Buckingham, who wore a frock of nile green crepe de chine and lace, with uneven hem. Her hat of pedaline straw was in toning shades, and she carried a bouquet of palest pink carnations and sweet peas. Two little flower girls, Bonnie Louis, sister of the bride, and Verna Johnston. cousin, were in daintily frilled frocks of crepe de chine in coral shade, with head-dresses formed of rosebud wreaths. They carried posies of sweet peas to tone with their frocks. Mr. James Neilson performed the duties of best man.

A reception was afterwards held at the Dominion Hall, Mount Eden, Mrs. Louis receiving the guests in a smart frock of biscuit coloured lace, with hat to match. She carried a posy of primroses. The bridegroom’s mother, Mrs. R. J. McGee, wore a rose beige satin frock, with a black bangkok hat. *
