“PAINTED POST” The role of sheriff comes natural •to Tom Mix, as he played the role In real lifo as sheriff of K 1 Paso, Texas, before his advent into pictures. Ift his latest release, “Painted Post,” now at both the Grand and Lyric Theatres, Mix enacts the role of a tearless guardian of law and order. Tho coming of the law spells disaster to a gang of unscrupulous thieves, who Lave stripped a city bare with their daring raids. The gang is preparing for a final ■oup, the Smelter City payroll. The manner in which Mix outwits them s the basis for a thrilling and dramatic picture that pulses with action interwoven with a gentle love theme. The second big attraction, entitled Let 'Er Go, Gallagher,” is a breezy tale of American sporting life, starring Junior Coghlan, Harrison Ford, and Elinor Fair. In addition, an American novelty dancing and comedy act, “Black and ’White,” will be presented ever— evening during the week at the Grand.
Fox Films, who made the first outdoor talkie picture. “In Old Arizona.” are now starting on the first all-dia-logue picture to be made in the air, producing “Sky Han#” Llewellyn Hughes's story of a Zeppelin raid over London. All that now remains for Fox in to make tho first all-talking picture at the bottom of the sett.
