GRAND AND LYRIC

“PAINTED POST” The role of sheriff comes natural •to Tom Mix, as he played the role In real lifo as sheriff of K 1 Paso, Texas, before his advent into pictures. Ift his latest release, “Painted Post,” now at both the Grand and Lyric Theatres, Mix enacts the role of a tearless guardian of law and order. Tho coming of the law spells disaster to a gang of unscrupulous thieves, who Lave stripped a city bare with their daring raids. The gang is preparing for a final ■oup, the Smelter City payroll. The manner in which Mix outwits them s the basis for a thrilling and dramatic picture that pulses with action interwoven with a gentle love theme. The second big attraction, entitled Let 'Er Go, Gallagher,” is a breezy tale of American sporting life, starring Junior Coghlan, Harrison Ford, and Elinor Fair. In addition, an American novelty dancing and comedy act, “Black and ’White,” will be presented ever— evening during the week at the Grand.
