BEEN ON ROTO ROA
YESTERDAY’S DRINKS COST £5 10/Said by Sub-Inspector McCarthy to have spent a term on Roto Roa Island, William Henry Nassan Carnahan, aged 44, was fined a total of £ 5 10s at the Police Court this morning as a result of getting drunk yesterday. Carnahan pleaded guilty to being found drunk in Pollen Street ap4 breaking the terms of his prohibition order. The sub-inspector said that the man was a statutory second offender on both counts and, on his last appearance on September 27, he had been fined 10s for drunkenness and £1 for breaking his order.
Mr. S. L. Patterson, S.M., fined Carnahan ‘ 10s, in default two days’ imprisonment, for drunkenness and £5, in default 14 days, on the major count. Accused was given three days to pay.
