EXHIBITION WELL PATRONISED GOOD SALES RECORDED Some of the best work of the artists of Auckland is to be seen at the Sketch Club exhibition, now being held at the Art Society's Hall in Kitchener Street. Public patronage has been excellent and proof of the growing interest in art in Auckland. Ida Carey, one of the finest artists in New Zealand, has some admirable examples of her work on view, but curiously enough none of them has been sold. Ida Eise, Dorothy Ashton. Alice Whyte, Ivy Perry, Ella Spicer and many other well-known painters are represented by charming studies, ail of them worth close inspection. The exhibition will remain open for only another week. So far the sales have beeu satisfactory. The following pictures have beeu sold:—"Primroses" (Alice Whyte), £3 3s; “The Mountain Path” (M. Gash), £2 2s; “Polanthii” (B. Jackson), £1 10s; "Howe Street” (Ella Spicer), £1 10s; “Fruit Shop" (E. Goodfellow), £2 10s; “Old Church, St. Heliers” < Elizabeth Ryburn), £1 Is; “The Kiosk” (Ivy Perry), £4 4s; “In Albert Park” (Ida G. Eise), £1 Is; “Pastoral” (Ida G. Eise), £1 ss.
