ADDITIONS TO PLANT As the result of the progress made by the East Tamaki Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited, in late years it has been found necessary to make considerable additions to the buildings and plant to cope with the increased output. " I During the past two years the number of suppliers to the factory has increased from 230 to 3SO. and supplies are received from as far afield as Pukekohe East, Paerata, Ardmore and Clevedon. The output for the present season shows an increase of over 68 per cent over last year, and there is every prospect of the total make for the season exceeding 800 tons. The .average payout for the season is Is 7.002 d. and 92 per cent, of the output is superfine. The additions to the factory include extra accommodation on the receiving stage; the freezing chamber accommodation has been doubled, and one tenton ice-making machine has been installed to maintain a supply for the chamber. A large store room has been erected for the making and storing of butter boxes. An additional 2,0001 b. churn was recently installed. A new manager’s residence is under course of erection on a site near the factory. The total cost of the extra accommodation is approximated* £2,400.
