MOTOR-BUSES TO REPLACE THEM CLEARING MAIN ROUTES (Australian, and .V.Z. Press Association) (United Service) LONDON. Friday. The Paris correspondent of “The Times” says the Permanent Traffic Committee has decided to abolish four further tramway lines which traverse heavy traffic centres, and to substitute motor omnibuses, as part of a general scheme to scrap trams on the main routes. M. Jayot, director of traffic, says that wherever possible buses will be substituted for trams, which will gradually be restricted to the outer suburbs.
