DRAINAGE AT WAITOA
AMALGAMATION APPROVED When he recently visited various drainage works in the Waitoa and i Waihou River watersheds, tli© Minister j of Lands, the Hon. G. W. Forbes, made i it quite clear that little more Govern- ! ment financial support could be expected until several of the drainage j boards amalgamated. At its meeting on Thursday the Waitoa Board unanimously endorsed the principle of the amalgamation of itself with the Elstow and Hungaliunga ; boards. The latter have both intimated that ' they are willing to meet in conference | on the matter. j The amalgamation of the three j boards would mean taking in a disi trict from Tahuna to beyond Mata- j mata.
