TRUCKERS REFUSE DUTY

DEADLOCK AT GREYMOUTH Press Association GREYMOUTH, Friday. The Liverpool State Mine is idle today, 160 men being affected. Two miners left before the due time yesterday, complaining they could not get sufficient trucks. The mine manager stopped their lamps and also those of two truckers pending an investigation of the complaint. The union executive and the manager were discussing the complaint this morning when it was found the remainder of the truckers had not gone to the mine. The union executive requested the truckers to work, but they went home, the miners thus being unable to work. Five hundred and fifty tons output has been lost through the day’s stoppage.
