BRITISH AMATEUR GOLF

PRINCE WATCHES PLAY FOR TITLE CHICAGO MAN UNBEATEN (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) LONDON, Wednesday. The Prince of Wales watched play in the amateur golf championship at Sandwich today. He accompanied Tolley’s match for a few holes and then watched two American players. Tile Prince was most interested in Joshua Crane’s “toothpick” putter. Earlier he had played a few holes on the adjoining Prince’s course. Later in the afternoon His Royal Highness partnered Wethered in a foursome. Outstanding features of the championship so far are that I. P. Perkins was taken to the 22nd hole by a littleknown youth, and Wethered, -Torrance and Stout were all beaten. John Dawson (Chicago) has not yet been beaten.
