“POACHING" OF LEAGUE TOURISTS
The English Rugby League Council has approved of a proposed agreement with the Australian Board of League Rugby Control which stipulates that no player who has been a member of an Australian Rugby League touring team shall be allowed to play football in England until after the expiration of 12 months from the date of the team’s arriving back in Sydney, and that no player who has been a member of an English Rugby League touring team shall be allowed to play football in Australia until after the expiration of a like period. This agreement. which will be sent to Australia for approval, will also prevent a touring player from being approached while on tour.
