In the Market Place

LARGER FRUITS SOUGHT TOMATOES CHEAPER Larger fruits are now claiming the attention of buyers in the City Marts and, in some lines, there is practically no inquiry for small JJOTHOUSE tomatoes have declined slightly in price. Poorman oranges are on a dull market. The moderate shipment of citrus fruits this week from Australia is sellms well. This week there is a fair demand for dessert and cooker apples. Bananas are selling at high rates. Cabbages, cauliflowers and root vegetables are heavily supplied in the marts. The demand is fair. Poultry supplies were heavy again today, but prices did not change from last week’s. Cockerels and heavy hens remain firm in value. Bight breed hens are not selling steadily because of a drop in quality in many of the pennings.
