MAIDS IN RAINBOW FROCKS ATTEND BRIDE CRAWFORD—HAYWARD A pretty wedding was cetebrated at All Saints Church, Ponsonby, last evening, when Miss Laura Lucy Hayward, of Onehunga, was married by the Rev. W. W. Averill to Mr. Herbert Crawford. The bride is the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Hayward, of Rotorua, the bridegroom being the eldest son of Mrs. I. Crawford, of Ponsonby. I The bride was given away by her father. Her frock was of ivory tinselled georgette every Ivory .silk. The j corsage was effectively vandyked on I to the skirt, and a spray of orange | blossom adorned the left shoulder, with a trail of the same flowers falling from i a buckle of silver and brilliants at I either side of the skirt. The skirt itself had four flares achieving an uneven hem that dipped to the back. A coronet of orange blossom was caught over each ear with a pretty clasp, from each of which a trail of orange blossom fell. The bridal veil was of ivory gossamer tulle. It was delicately embroidered with rtoral designs in ivory silk. The bride carried a shower bouquet of white cyclamens. MAUVE GOWN A sister of the bridegroom. Miss Bertha Crawford, attended the bride as her chief maid. Her frock was of iris mauve georgette over mauve silk. The pin -tucked corsage had a spray of silver roses worn on the left, shoulder with a trail of silver leaves. The skirt was trimmed with pintucking, and fine ecru-tinted lace around the hemline. Ecru lace was also used on the cuffs of the frock. Miss Crawford’s head-dress was | fashioned of iris mauve tulle. It was of mob-cap design, and an unusual feature was the fan-wise spread of the motif at the back of the head. A coronet of silver rose leaves encircled the head and lent a piquant touch to her toilette. A dainty posy of toning flowers with mauve tulle was carried. PEACH CREPE DE CHINE
The second bridesmaid was Miss Nancy Missen, who chose a frock of peach-bloom crepe de chine over a matching of silk slips. The skirt was double-tired, both tiers and also the hemline being petalled. The frock was relieved with silver and the headdress and posy were similar to those worn by the chief bridesmaid. The bride and her two maids all wore necklets of pearls. Mr. Gordon Wakelin, a cousin of the bridegroom, attended as best man. All Saints Hall, where the reception was held, was beautifully decorated to harmonise with the frocks of the bridal party. Miss S. E. Hawkins was responsible for the artistic effects displayed in both this and the table decorations. Mrs. Hayward received her guests in a frock of seal brown repp and a fawn hat. She carried an autumn-tinted bouquet. A frock of black crepe de chine with fawn facings, together with a black hat, was worn by Mrs. Crawford, and she carried a posy of violets. Included among the guests were: Mr. and Mrs. R. Hayward, Mr. and Mrs. Sheffield, Mr. and Mrs. Roger. Mr. and Mrs. W. Brown, Mr. and Mrs. E. Riley, Mr. and Mrs. Watson, Mr. and Mrs. Day, Mr. and Mrs. Kelsall, Mrs. Kelsall, sen., Mr. and Mrs. Murray, Mr. and Mrs. Grassick, Mr. and Mrs. Reece, Mr. and Mrs. Herd, Mrs. Salt. Mrs. Riley, Mrs. Miller, Mrs. Pilkington, the Misses Missen M. Bratty, B. Campbell, B. Maxwell, E. Grassick, J. Fulljames, B. Henry, S. Miller, E. Pilkington, S. E. Hawkins, E. Connor, E. Wakelin, O. Marcroft, J. Carlaw, A. Piggott, E. Sutherland, L. Herd and E. Herd. When she left on the honeymoon tour Mrs. Crawford, jun„ was wearing a frock of french blue wool crepe de chine with silver grey relief. Her hat was of matching shade.
