His deck officers are as follow: Chief, Mr. C. HE. M. Long; second, Mr. R. IT. C. Hargeraves; third, Mr. H. J. M. Kemp. Captain E. R. Lowe has been appointed to command of the Kanna. Mr. E. J. Deed has been appointed chief officer of the Kanna, relieving Mr. J. W. Thomson, who has transferred to the Poolta in a similar capacity. Mr. D. R. McPhail has relieved Mr. H. M. Hughes, third officer of the Poolta, for his holidays. Mr. T. A. Mack lias joined the Kaimanawa as second officer. BALRANALD AT FREMANTLE—The P. and O. branch service liner Balranald reached Fremantle from London yesterday. She is due at Sydney on June 24. PHOSPHATES FRO IV SEYCHELLES —The steamer Brockobeck, which left Melbourne for Mauritius on June 1. will afterwards go to Seychelles Islands to load phosphates for New Zealand. OTOKIA DEPARTS.—The docking and refitting of the Union Corapanys oiltanker Otokia was completed yesterday, and the vessel sailed last evening for San Luis to load a cargo of bulk oil for Wellington. MAILS ARRIVING—The chief postmaster has received advice that the R.M.M.S. Aorangt from Vancouver, due at Auckland on Sunday evening next, has C9O bags of English and American mail for Auckland.

TASMANIA LEAVES NEW YORK.— The New Zealand Shipping Company has been notified by cable that the Tasmania left New York last Friday for Boston, Halifax and West Coast ports of Great Britain, en route from Auckland. She sailed from Auckland on April 27. BARON JEDBURGH CLEARS PANAMA—According to cable advice received in Auckland, the steamer Baron Jedburgh, en route from Cuba with raw sugar for discharge at Chelsea, left Panama on June 9 for Auckland, where she is expected to arrive on July 9. PORT DARWIN LEAVES COLON.— According to a cable message received by the C. and D. Line, the Port Darwin left Colon last Sunday for New York, Boston and Halifax, en route from Auckland. The vessel sailed from Auckland on May 15. TARANAKI TO COMPLETE—Leaving Gisborne this evening for Auckland, the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company’s motor-ship Taranaki is due here tomorrow evening to complete her loading under the agency of L. D. Nathan and Company. The vessel is scheduled to sail finally from Auckland on June 19 for London, via Panama. WAIPA HI LEAVES RAROTONGA — Advice has been received by the local office of the Union Company that the Island fruit steamer Waipahi. after loading at the Cook Islands, left Rarotonga at 12.30 p.m. last Tuesday for Auckland, where she is expected next Tuesday. ANGLO INDIAN LEAVES TEXAS Cable advice states that the steamer Anglo Indian was dispatched from Galveston last Monday with a full cargo of sulphur for discharge at Auckland, Newcastle, Sydney, Port Ivembla. Geelong and Port Pirie. She is due at Auckland about the middle of July. Messrs. R. Millar and Company are the local agents. CARGO FROM LIV E RPOOL—The local office of the New Zealand Shipping Company has been advised that the Federal steamer Northumberland sailed from Liverpool on June 9 with West of England cargo for discharge at Auckland, Wellington. Lyttelton, Port Chalmers and New Plymouth. The vessel is expected to arrive here on July 17. SURREY'S PROGRAMME—The Federal steamer Surrey, which left Auckland last evening for Wellington, Lyttelton. Dunedin and New Plymouth, wilt, on completion of her discharge of Antwerp **ttd New York cargoes, load at Oamaru. Bluff, Timaru, Lyttelton, Picton and Wellington. She is scheduled to sail finally from Wellington on July 20 for London, via Panama.

TOFUA SAILS SATU RDAY—TIie Union Company's Island passenger steamer Tofua is scheduled to leave Auckland at 11 a.m. on Saturday on her monthly trip to Fiji, Tonga and Samoa. CANADIAN TRANSPORTER SAILS.— At 9.30 p.m. yesterday the Canadian National Steamships' vessel Canadian Transporter sailed from Auckland for Wellington, Lyttelton. Timaru, and Dunedin. to continue discharging her cargo from Montreal. SOUTHERN CROSS SAILS TOMORROW.—The Melanesia:'. Mis>i.. advises that the mission steamer Southern Cross is to be dispatched at 10 a.m. tomorrow on the trip round the Island mission stations which she had to abandon recently at Norfolk Island on a* - count of damage to her rudder. The Hokianga was unable to work the Manukau bar yesterday through heavy seas, and is therefore to be dispatched for Hokianga at 3 p.m. today. The Arapawa was to sail for Opunake and Wanganui at noon today. The Hauturu has been delayed in making port through heavy weather, and is now expected to arrive tomorrow morning from Raglan, Kawhia, and Waikato Heads. She is to leave for Ilokianga at 3 p.m. that afternoon. The Anchor Shipping and Foundry Company’s vessel Alexander is due from Nelson tomorrow morning. She is to load for Nelson and West Coast ports of the South Island, and is scheduled to sail at daylight on Saturday. The Ngapuhi, after being delayed at New Plymouth by bad weather, sailed from that port lasst evening, and arrived at Onehunga this morning at 9.30 o’clock. She is to sail on the return trip at 3 p.m. this afternoon.
