WHANGAREI SCHOOLS VISITED (Special to THE SUS) W HANGAREI. Wednesday. ! Schools in the Whangarei districts j were visited by the Hon. H. At more, ! Minister of Education, today. At Portland Mr. Atmore told a deputation he would consider a request that | a grant of £I,OOO should be made for ] ground improvements. A deputation at Horahora complained ■ that children living in that area were j attending the Whangarei school, although there was adequate accommodation for them at Horahora. The ! Minister promised consideration of the j position. Lt was urged at the AVhangarei pnm- ! ary school that the cookery and woodwork departments should not be removed to the High School site, but allowed to remain for use as additions ‘ class-rooms that were necessary.
