RAVING PRISONER
INCOHERENT ADDRESS TO COURT
CASE IS POSTPONED Shouting remarks, for the most part incoherent, Leonard Walter Lash was removed from the Police Court dock this morning after being remanded to appear tomorrow. Lash, 32, was charged with forging the name of T. H. McMillan to a cheque for £4 on January 3 at Morrinsvllle and causing Robert Sarlch to act upon it as if it were genuine. The man’s outburst followed Chiefj Detective Hammond’s remarks that j there was another charge to be j brought tomorrow. “It is a ready,” {he shouted. “It will never come.” i Lash then turned toward the public i gallery and continued his harangue. | Hia words could not be heard dis- : tinctiy at the other end of the courtj room but among the jumble of words, i “He is not a mail,” and “What about | last night?” were*fairly distinct. “Take him away,” urged Mr. F. K. | Hunt, S.M., and the man’s ravings I were heard to grove rapidly fainter i behind the heavy door.
