A NOVEL BOUT

Boxer Hit on Head With Chair FREE-FOR-ALL ENSUES (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) (United Service) Reed. 11.5 a.m. VIENNA, Wednesday. Czechoslovakia has a novel method of conducting boxing matches. During a tournament at Znaim, the Czech champion, Jirsa, suddenly sprang into the ring and challenged Fristensky, the Austrian, champion, who was present as a spectator. Fristensky accepted on condition that it be a fight to a finish without intervals between the rounds, whereupon the champions stripped. Jirsa, however, was 'weakening at the end of 19 minutes, and suddenly picked up his second’s stool and felled Fristensky. The Austrian’s seconds jumped into the ring and a free fight began. Soon the whole audience became involved, and when the police arrived a score of persons were wounded. Fristensky was taken to the hospital with a broken head.
