MAJESTIC
“TRENT'S LAST CASE” An excellently varied programme of musical items and pictures is now being presented at the Majestic Theatre. Perhaps the most enjoyable item is that of the Majestic Quartet, which is entitled “Fireside Memories.” Grouped around a glowing fire they sing “Grandfather’s Clock,” The Soldiers' Chorus from “Faust” and many other old favourites. Another enjoyable musical item is “Songs of Italy,” one of the Fitzpatrick Melody Series, which is accompanied by special music by the Majestic Orchestra, as well as songs by Mr. Arthur Ripley. Among the shorter films may be mentioned an up-to-date Majestic Magazine, an Eve’s Review, a comedy, views of the “Southern Cross” flight and of the famous plane on the mudflat and finally scenes of the attempts on the world’s land speed records at Daytona Beach, including “shots” of Lee Bible’s tragic attempt. Then comes the main pictorial attraction of the evening—a sensational “mystery-murder” type of story entitled “Trent’s Last Case.” It embodies everything that could be desired in suspense and mystery, in addition to a fair leavening of humour and romance. Mr. J. Whiteford Waugh’s Majestic Orchestra has selected some fine musisal numbers, including Three Dances from "Tom Jones,” “Carnival” (Matt), “Three Days” (Lotter), “The Sun is at My Window” (fox-trot), “Vitava” (symphonic poem), “Funeral March of a Bumble Bee.” "My Angel” (fox-trot), “A Dream Picture” (Gabriel Marie), “Chanson Melancholique” (Collinge), “Suite Caracteristique” (Tregina), “Indian Summer” Suite, “Reve Angel - ique” (Rubinstein), and Prelude and Nocturne (Chopin).
