Kemp, who has been conducting an evangelistic mission in Melbourne, returned to Auckland by the Aorangi this morning. Mr. H. R. Jenkins, M.P., and Mr. N. Spencer, New Zealand directors of the Mercantile Bank of Australia, Ltd., returned to Auckland this morning by the Aorangi. Mr. Albert Spencer, president of the Auckland Employers’ Federation, and Sir. S. E- Wright, secretary of the federation, left for Wellington last evening to attend the Dominion Apprenticeship Conference. Mr. F. G. Wood, manager in New Zealand for the Canadian National Railways and the Canadian National Steamships, will leave by the Aorangi to-morrow to make a business and holiday tour of Canada. He is accompanied by Mrs. Wood and by his daughter. Sir George Fowlds left by train last evening for Wellington, where he will join the Tahiti, which is leaving tomorrow for Sydney. He will attend a conference of Congregational Church representatives in Brisbane. The Rev. Lionel B. Fletcher will also sail by the Tahiti to be present at the conference. Mr. D. V. Saunders has been appointed town clerk to the Matamata Town Board, in succession to Mr. C. G. Lucas, who has been appointed clerk to the Whakatano County Council.
