NO “BLUE” TRAIN

ROTORUA AND TOURISTS GROUNDLESS REPORT SCOTCHED The first thought of a number of people who call at Auckland in the trans-Paeific mail eteamerm is that they must make a quick trip to Rotorua to see the thermal wonders. It has been freely reported that, ta cater for this traffic, the Railway Department intended to put on a special de luxe train, -with new rolling stock of up-to-date and luxurious character. Report stated that this fine train would be the counterpart of the famed “Blue” train and other expresses that bear tourists from the North of France to the Riviera. But when Mr. H. H- Sterling, general manager of railways, was questioned about the report this morning, he stated that it was without foundation. The department did not at present contemplate running such a service, and the improvements being instituted would be general, so as to apply to the system as a whole.
