FEW HOURS’ LIBERTY
PRISONER RECAPTURED Press Association WANGANUI, Sunday. The prisoner. George W. Hastings, aged about 54, who escaped from the Wanganui Hospital at 2.30 a.m. yesterday, was recaptured in the afternoon among the lupins at Castlecliff. He had been sent to the hospital for treatment to one hand. Hastings made a similar escape from the Wanganui Gaol 18 months ago, and was put on bread and water for 10 days.
