GELIGNITE USED

SAFE RANSACKED LITTLE FOR TROUBLE For their trouble and audacity in entering the Wellington Street branch of the Auckland Meat Company, and blowing open the safe with gelignite, burglars received in the small hours of yesterday mornipg the sum of about £l4 only. Entry to the shop was gained by smashing the front door in. The thieves then made their way to the office, and plugged the iron safe with gelignite. The explosion forced the heavy door of the safe, which was ransacked. This is the third time the shop has been entered within about a year, and on each occasion gelignite lias been used in forcing the safe.
