JOHNNIE LECKIE FEELS HEAT

Letters received from Johnny Leckie by Dunedin friends indicate that the champion is not all enamoured of Australia’s hot climate, especially in Sydney. The weather is getting cooler, however, and if “Fighting Johnnie” continues to do well he will stay in the Commonwealth for some time. By the way, the constant reference of some newspapers to Leckie’s “youthfulness” would indicate that the champion is in his teens or thereabouts. As a matter of fact he is in his 23rd year, which he° will complete on September 7 next.
