IN GREAT ORDER
I*ED FUCHSIA is in fine condition at present, and he should strip a very fit horse in the Great Northern next month. He carried 12.2 in the Open Hurdles at Marton on Saturday, and got to within half a length of Red Bank, to whom he was conceding no less than 37!b. Red Fuchsia was in a way unlucky to lose. With Mandarine out in front at the fence near the five furlongs, the other horsemen were keen to keep away from the leader, who was liable to bring them down. There Red Fuchsia and a couple of others were forced into the hurde in an endeavour to get ahead of Mandarine, and such a gr ea * effort did Red Fuchsia make that he landed a couple of lengths in front. , ... To be left high and dry. .all to soon, was not what was required, no doubt, and so to finish second then was a smart performance. Red Fuchsia at present can be regarded as a certain starter in the Great Northern Hurdles.
