TILLEY’S DOUBLE

RUANUI ran a sterling race in the Crofton Handicap at Marton, for instead of fighting for his head all the way he went quietly. Just inside the distance L. G. Morris gave him his head, and that was the end of it, for although he only won by a length it looked as if there was a bit in reserve.

Fred Tilley’s stable captured the flat double, for the very next race saw Limited, a liberal - priced second favourite, beat the sprinters. He was the leader practically all the way, and when under punishment in the straight, still well clear of the opposition, he kept going well to score a clearcut victory. Limited is now about back to his best, and is capable of still further improvement.
