ENGINEER’S TOUR

PLANS OF MR. WATKINS LEAVES CITY TO-MORROW For the purpose of making an official investigatory tour abroad, Mr. H. H. Watkins, secretary and engineer of the Auckland and Suburban Drainage Board, will leave Auckland by the Aorangi to-morrow. Mr. Watkins will visit Great Britain, European countries. Canada, the United States and Australia. He expects to return to New Zealand at the end of the year. PRESENT FROM STAFF On Saturday Mr. J. P. Wright, assistant engineer to the Auckland and Suburban Drainage Board, presented Mr. H. H. Watkins, engineer and secretary of the board, with a New Zealand travelling rug on the eve of his departure on an official tour of inspection of America and Europe. Mr. Wright, on behalf of Mr. Watkins's colleagues, wished him and Mrs. Watkins a pleasant time abroad, and conveyed to him expressions of loyalty and goodwill from every member of the staff.
