LEFT THEM STANDING

T>ELLETTE made an exhibition of the two-year-old field at Paeroa on Saturday. A furlong irom home the Surveyor colt ranged alongside of tha leader, Awamutu, a pronounced favourite, but in a couple of strides he was in front. Making every post a winning one his jockey kicked Pellette along, never letting-up until within 10yds of the judge, when he looked round and saw the others tailing him home. Pellette beat Awamutu by four lengths, and one could not but be impressed by the manner in which he wound up his task, even after making due allowance for the fact that he was in receipt of 241 b from the favourite.
