MAJESTIC

“DETECTIVES” Bright and amusing entertainment is provided in the current programme at tho Majestic Theatre. It is a programme with many attractions, the chief of which is “Detectives.” Karl Dane and George K. Arthur, the inimitable comedy team, have the leading roles. Tho new comedy is something entirely new to tho screen, in that the story itself is a bizarre mystery thriller, the laughs being created by the two heroes blundering by mistake into the thrills and mysteries, and escaping usually by their own stupidity. Every “straight” thrill Is thus anticlimaxed in a comical episode when the heroes of “Rookies” make an enDane plays a hotel detective and Arthur a bellboy who wants to be a sleuth. Marceiine Day is the heroine, and Tenen Holtz. Polly Moran. Clarence Lyle. Koo Mai and others of note are in the cast. First on the supporting programme is “Tell It To the Judge.” This is an hilarious comedy, with Max Davidson. tho diminutive comedian. A Majestic news, with the latest interesting world news, and one of those amusing Aesop Fable cartoons. “Down on the Farm.” are on the supporting programme. An enjoyable programme of music is provided by Mr. Whiteford Waugh’s Majestic Orchestra. In honour of the Schubert Centenary the Majestic Orchestra will play “Lilac Time,” based on the famous musicians life.
