MATAMATA SHOW ARRANGEMENTS
At a well-attended meeting of the ; executive of the Matamata A. and l'. Association, Air. W. S. Wilson presided. It was reported that an excellent response had been received by canvassers for raising funds to liquidate the debt of £IOO owing to the racing club. Over 50 new members had also been enrolled. Messrs. R. K,. Garland and H- Lewis, on behalf of the Matamata Jersey Breeders’ Club, announced that the club would donate the sum of £ls for extra prize money in the Jersey classes. This amount will be subsidised by the New Zealand Association to the extent of £1 for £l. making £3O in all. The offer was accepted with thanks. The president was authorised to interview Air. J. F. Wells, 8.A.. headmaster of the Junior High School, and endeavour to arrange a display of physical drill. The prospects for the an»»u show. ! to be held on February 28 next, are v. • I nromising.
