“DISGUISED WOLVES”
BRITISH LABOUR CHIEFS ASSAILED HINDU’S BITTER ATTACK (United P.A.—By Telegraph —- Copyright) (Australian and -Y-Z. Press Association.) (United Service) Reed. 9.5 a.m. DELHI, Sunday. Lala Lajpat Rai, a Hindu extremist of the Punjab, retorted most virulently to Mr. Tom Johnston’s recent criticisms of the Swarajists. He said: “Let Johnston not talk Socialism. It is blasphemy out of his own mouth. He and his .party are only disguised wolves, who want to help other nations into subjugation. India has ceased to take the British Labour leaders seriously.” The alarming growth of Communist intrigue in India has led the Government to frame a Bill to provide powers for the deportation of Red agents. The Government states that evidence is forthcoming of the subversive activities of the Third (Communist* International of Moscow against India. Its policy is to rouse a spirit of discontent _and lawlessness among the masses, with the object of destroying the Government and substituting a dictatorship of the proletariat. The new Bill proposes to give power to deport Red agents who are not British subjects, or the subjects of Indian States.
