A GOOD SAVE
FIRE IN HOBSON STREET The prompt arrival of two city brigade motors saved an old wooden building from destruction by fire at 1 p.m. to-day. Situated at the rear of Mrs. H. Hedgeman’s “Kelbourne” apartment house, 136 Hobson Street, the building is used by Mr. W. H. Dawson as a garage for his car. The fire was discovered in a washhouse adjoining the garage, but was got under control before the flames had penetrated the linings. The interior of the washhouse was charred, and a number of small articles were destroyed. The building is owned by Mr. F. Hooper, of Takapuna.
