Stock auctioneers report on district sales held during the week as follow: — The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited: We held sales during the past, week at Westfield, Pukekohe, Papakura, Warkworth, Paeroa and Ngatea. Cattle have been penned in average numbers, and we report good sales of all classes of cattle at late values. We quote: Dairy cows and heifers, best, £lO to £l6 15s; others, £6 to £9 15s; aged cows and inferior heifers, £2 10s to £5 10s; bulls, £3 to £9 15s, according to weight; empty cows, £2 10s to £3 17s 6d; boner cows, £3 to £4 15s; yearling heifers, best, £3 to £5 ss; others, £1 10s to £2 17s 6d; yearling to 18-month steers, £3 to £4 7s 6d; 2 to 2£-year steers, £4 10s to £5 7s 6d: 3 to 3i-year steers, £5 10s to £6 7s 6d; 4 to 45-year steers, £6 10s to £7 7s fid; grown steers, in forward condition, £7 10s to £S 15s; beef at fully Westfield quotations. Alfred Buck land and Sons, Limited: During the week we held sales at Turua, Wesif.eld, Pokeno and Runciman, a pig sale at WatUku. and three clearing sales. There continues to be a good inquiry for all classes of cattle and sheep. Dairy cows at clearing sales are making high prices. Best cows made £ls to £2l; extra to £26; good cows, £lO 10s to £l4 10s; second grade, £6 to £9; aged and inferior, £3 10s to £5 15s; best springing heifers. £lO to £ls; others, £6 to £9 10s; small heifers, £4 10s to £5 15s; empty young cows, £4 to £5 15s; store cows. £2 to £3 15s; heavy young fat cows and heifers. £7 to £lO 10s; light heifers and aged cows, £5 to £6 17s fid; boner cows. £1 10s to £5 10s; fat steers, £9 10s to £l3 10s; grown steers, in forward condition. £7 15s to £9 ss; three to four-year-old steers, £6 to £7 32s fid; two to three-year-old steers, £4 15s to £6; yearling to 18-months old steers. £3 to £4 12s 6d; well-bred yearling heifers, £4 to £5 15s; other heifers. £2 10s to £3 15s; calves. £1 10 S to £2 10s; small i calves, 15s to £1 Ss; heavy bulls, £6 10s to £8 15s: sound young herd bulls, £5 5s to £lO 10s; other bulls, £2 to £4 15s; ewes in lamb, £1 Ss to £1 13s 9d; store wethers, £1 7s to £1 13s 6d; hoggets, 17s to £1 4s.
