(United P.A. — By Telegraph — Copyright) (Australian and N.Z. Press Association, f (United, Service) Received 10.50 a.m. LONDON, Wednesday. THERE were amazing scenes of battle at tlie Miners’ Feder ation Conference at tbe Llandudno Town Hall'.
Mr. Herbert Smith, a burly Yorkshireman, who is president, left the
with Mr. Arthur Horner, a Communist member of the executive in South Wales.
Mr. A. J. Cook, the secretary, joined in, helping Mr. Horner, and a dozen of the leading delegates became involved. The storm threatened yesterday, when the Lanarkshire delegates were refused their credentials by Mr. Robert Smith, the Scottish mine-workers* secretary. They alleged that this action was taken on political grounds. Women in the gallery screamed, and others joined in the battle, taking sides seemingly indiscriminately. The row finally subsided.
