PHILOMEL’S COMMANDER

NEW OFFICER ARRIVES Commander Nelson Clover, R.X., who arrived in Wellington from London by the Rotorua on Saturday, has come to A.uckland to take over the command of H.M.S. Philomel, relieving Commander F. C. Bradley, who is returning to England shortly. As a lieutenant in H.M.S. Encounter, Commander Clover visited New Zealand in 1912 and before that was in command of M.M.A.S. Penguin, depot ship at Garden Island, Sydney. During the war he served in H.M.S. Benbow, flagship of the 4th Battle Squadron, flying the flag of the late Admiral Sir Doveton Sturdee. Mrs. Clover will come to New Zealand later in the year. She is the eldest daughter of Sir Sydney Kidman, of Adelaide, and will visit her parents en route
