BUTTER AND CHEESE
Under -date July 7, the London office of the Amalgamated Dairies, Ltd., cabled as follow’s:— “Butter.—Prices unchanged; “Anchor,” 178 s; undertone improving after quiet spell; Danish, 174 s to 176 s on the spot; 170 s f.o.b. Retail prices unchanged. Deliveries of New Zealand buttei’ during the week totalled 571 tons; stock, 6,244 tons. Estimated stock all butters in public stores July 2, 3 3,200 tons, compared with 15,500 tons last year. Cheese.—Market wholesale and retail unchanged. Canadian 104 s to 106 s on spot; 106 s c.i.f. Estimated stocks in United Kingdom July 2, New Zealand and Australian 67,700 crates, Canadian 32,000 boxes, compared with 99,350 crates and 29,350 boxes last year.” The Bank of New Zealand has received the following advice from its London office as at the close of business last week: —Butter, quietly steady, 176 sto 178 s; cheese, firm, 106 s to 108 s.
