At the end of the match the Marylebone captain, Stanyforth, addressing an enthusiastiev crowd, said that he was sorry that England had not won the rubber, but he thought that the result was a true reflex of the play. The South Africans’ second innings was a race against the rain, which fell within 10 minutbs of the conclusion of the match. Details: ENGLAND. First Innings - - .. •• 282 Second innings.
