S- Broughton, who has been touring for 11 months in the Far East, Europe and South Africa, returned yesterday. Mr M. Cummins has been appointed manager of the Auckland branch of the Liverpool and London and Globe Insurance Company. The Rev. A. W. McMillan was inducted last evening as minister of the Green Lane Congregational Church. Representatives of other churches were present at the service. Mr. H. S. Hill, of Auckland, and his and daughter left for Wellington by train last evening, en route for Great Britain. Mr. Hill will also visit the Continent and the United States, being absent for about nine months. Mr. T. Wilson, Grand President of thj New Zealand Order of Druids, has returned to Auckland from the West Coast of the South Island, where he has been on special business concerning hia organisation. Dr, and Mrs. Lewis Smith, of London, who are on a world-trip through the Dominions, recently spent a week in Wellington. They have now left for a month’s fishing at Tokaanu and Taupo, and will afterwards visit Rotorua. Russell and Auckland before sailing on April 10 by the Aorangi for British Columbia. Dr. Kelly, Roman Catholic Archbishop of Sydney, is to spend a holiday in New Zealand shortly. Arrangements had been made to leave for the Bluff by the Manuka yesterday. He will visit the four principal cities and will leave for Sydney about the end of the month. D.r. Kelly, who will be 78 next Monday, is accompanied by the Rev. Father E.
