WIMBLEDON WILL BE LATE

A SKED the reason for the lateness of the 1928 Wimbledon meeting, which begins Monday, June 25, the secretary of the Lawn Tennis Association, through H. C. Malim, writes to "American Lawn Tennis”: “The reason that Wimbledon starts next year on June 25 is that we reckon all our tournaments as commencing so many weeks before or after the August Bank Holiday. In 1928 the August Bank Holiday falls on the 6th of the month, whereas this year it fell on the Ist. All other tournament dates vary accordingly.”
