Brassey, has returned to town. • • * Miss Rachel Beamish, of Ngaruawahia, has been paying a short visit to Auckland. The Princess Te Puea, one of the leading chieftainesses of the Waikato, who recently organised a tour of the East Coast district in aid of the Maori social work in which she is interested, will return to her home at Ngaruawahia early next week. 3Dr. and Mrs. Scholefield, of Wellington, who with their family have been on an extensive motor tour in Taranaki and Waikato, returned to Wellington, via Taupo and Napier. Mrs. R. Brassey, of Maurice Avenue, Remuera, has returned from the seaside. Miss McClatchie, of Auckland, is a visitor of Christchurch. Mrs. W. Gunn, who has been visiting South Canterbury, has returned to Auckland. • • * Miss Eastfield Slater, of Mount Eden, Is the guest of Miss Muriel Inwood, who is on a holiday at St. Heliers Bay. Miss McCowan and Miss Fitzpatrick, of Epsom, have returned from their visit to the Franz Josef Glacier and Queenstown. • • • Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Wright and family, of Remuera Road, have returned from a holiday spent at Rotorua. Miss Bunty Stuart, of Sydney, who has been visiting Auckland as the guest of her sister, Miss Stuart, Te Pare Ma, Birkenhead, and of Mrs. Rus-sell-Wood, Mount Street, has left for Wellington, en route for Australia. Miss Maud Dinneen, M.A., one of the ■nissionaries of the New Zealand Church Missionary Society, will be leaving for Hengchow, China, by the Marama on March 2. She arrives in Auckland on Saturday from Christchurch, where she has been doing deputation work, and will be staying at 10, Upland Road, Remuera,, till her departure for China. Mrs. Schnauer, president of the Auckland Croquet Club, Colonel and Mrs. Savile, Mrs. Keesing Mrs. Coutts, Mrs. Penn, Mrs. Brabant, Mrs. Laurie, Mrs. Murray, Mrs. Huddleston, Mrs. Gill and Miss Hesketh are among tlie Auckland Visitors to Palmerston North for the Dominion croquet tournament. Mrs. B. McMillan, of Rotorua, is staying at the Star Hotel. Colonel and Mrs. G. Strutt, of Derby, England, are at the Grand Hotel. t Mrs. S. Metz, of Wellington. is a guest at the Grand Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. S. Johnson, of Wanganui, are at the Royal Hotel. LOYAL PAPATOETOE LODGE SOCIAL EVENING The Loyal Papatoetoe Lodge, M.U., 1.0.0. F., held an enjoyable impromptu social evening at the close of the ordinary fortnightly meeting on Tuesday when visitors were present from the Loyal Drury and Loyal Pukekohe Lodges. Dancing was indulged in, and the women of the lodge served a dainty supper.
