YOUNG FOOTBALLER’S DEATH The death occurred at the Waihi Hospital on Saturday of James Alexander Stewart, aged 16, from an injury received while playing football. Great sympathy is felt for the bereaved parents, as deceased was their only living boy, a younger son having been shot dead in the terrible Waikino School tragedy four years ago. The interment took place at the Waihi Cemetery on Sunday, the Rev. Wayne officiating at the graveside. ... With the advent of the tine weather the desire for the open-air life has set in and on Sunday about 30 car-loads Of people spent a few happy hours at the Waihi Beach, enjoying the bracing air and sunshine. A good deal of work has been put in on the beach road since last holiday season and at present the surface is in splendid condition, so that given line weather this popular seaside resort should have a record season. A four-hall best-ball bogey game was played on the Waihi golf links on Saturday, in which about 28 players took part. This was won by Cl \I Lorimer from V. Hollis, 7 up. Clarke and Barron, junr., and Masefield and Holmes, tied for seeond place, 6 up.
