MANUREWA SOCCER CLUB
PRESENTATION TO TRAINER A very enjoyable evening was spent on Saturday night at the residence of Mrs.. Donaldson, Hill Road. Manurewa. to mark the close of the past successful season of the Manurewa Association Football Club, and to make a presentation to Mr. Peter Owens, who acted as honorary trainer to the team. The presentation took the form of a wallet, to show the high appreciation of his efforts by the members. Mr. Osborne, president, spoke in glowing terms of the wholeheartedness in which Mr. Owens carried out his duties, and through his efforts made such a success of the club in its first year of existence. Mr. Owens, in reply, thanked the members for their kind thoughts, stating that his work was a labour of love, and promised to further help the club in the future.
During the evening musical items, dancing, and games were indulged in, and a dainty supper was served. A very enjoyable evening was concluded with expressions of appreciation to Mrs. Donaldson for the use of her home for the function.,
