A FORWARD MOVE N.Z. COUNCIL PLEASED Press Association. WELLINGTON. To-day. At a meeting of the Council of the New Zealand Athletic Association, the chairman, Mr. R. W. McVilly, said he
was glad to say that amateur athletics were being put on the map in Auckland. The centre was negotiating for unproved facilities for athletes at the E-omain and had got the Mayor and council interested. It was proposed to make alterations to the Domain, all of which would l»e in the direction of giving athletics a big push during the coming season. “We all know” said Mr. McVilly. “that one of the difficulties the Auckland people have been up &gainsL is the matter of grounds. With the suggested proposals given effect to. we hope to see a thletics in Auckland well in front.”
