SOAKING RAIN IN SOUTHLAND

TRAINS HELD UP Press Association. GORE, To-day. Soaking rain throughout the whole of Southland has resulted in big accumulations of surface water. The train service has been interrupted at McNab, on the main line, owing to water, and road connections have been blocked. The Mataura River is running at a high level, but there is no danger of a flood. It is expected that trains will get through later in the day.
