EYE PIERCED BY SCISSORS

ACCIDENT AT PLAY While at play cutting out pictures on Sunday last, Julia Chubb, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chubb, Otahuhu, had her arm accidentally knocked, with the result that the scissors she was using were driven into the eye of her little sister E len, aged 4h years. The little sufferer was sent to the Auckland Hospital. where it was found that a portion of the iris was protruding and an operation was performed on Monday morning by Dr. Fairclough. It is hoped that the sight of the eye may be saved.
