SELECTING REFORM’S RAGLAN CANDIDATE

FOURTEEN ASPIRANTS POSSIBLE COMPLICATIONS (THE SUN'S Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, To-day. The Reform Party’s candidature for the R.glan seat probably will be decided at the week-end when the comiiittee in the electorate will meet to consider the 14 aspirants to official Reform representation at the by-elec-tion. The names will first be reduced to about six t.nd a ballot will execute the final selection. Fears ha ve been entertained by the party that some of those who have signified their intention to stand in the Government interest will not agree to stand aside if not chosen as the official nominee, but the organiser hopes to eiim mite trouble of this nature, which certainly loomed on the horizon a few days ago. Endeavours ere being made to present a repetition of the Eden trouble, and full advantage will be taken -of tho amendment to the party’s manifesto which throws the onus upon the prospective candidate to abide unreservedly by the decision of the aelec.im committee. If one of the rejected aspirants came out in the interest of the new party complications might result.
