A STRIKING EFFECT I A French design for a window is good for dull weather, since it makes use of rose silk muslin for curtains. These overlap well, thereby attaining an additional grace. The tie-backs are I unusual; they are of black velvet. The
ebony table has contrasting surfaces of milled wood. A vase the French would call “amusing” is of rose-coloured porcelain decorated with futuristic designs in black, and is reflected in the shiny surface.
