AMBULANCE WORK

BRIGADE AT FRANKTON Railwaymen at Frankton are taking a keen interest in ambulance work and it ha., been decided to form a branch of the St. John Ambulance Association. Xo fewer than 47 of the men sat for the first-aid examinations, and of this number 26 gained first-class certificates and 16 passed the test. The examinations were conducted by Drs. T. C. Fraser, W. Fulton and E. L. Brewis. Dr. F. D. Pinfold was the lecturer and as a mark of appreciation of his services the men presented him with a set of medical books. Definite steps were taken to found the brigade for Frankton and the following officers were elected: Surgeon superintendent. Dr. F. D. Pinfold: divisional superintendent, Mr. H. B. Taylor; general officer. Mr. Ci. L, Brown; sergeants. Messrs. F. C. Carr and J. A. Prescott: corporals. Messrs. W. E. Jones and P. Johnson; secretary. Mr. A. R. Wiffin; storekeeper, Mr, R. B. Binns.
